        Boxing for competition, for fitness, or self defense are all great reasons to start out. You can begin in two ways, either going to one of the great online directories which list boxing gyms and clubs around the world, or you can train from your home using the free online lessons and by buying training gloves, an instructional dvd and heavy bag with stand. Although there is not that much selection of online boxing resources, it is enough to get you  started.
